To provide a protecting cover at a low cost in which the cover can be easily installed at the projecting edge of a plate-like member such as a construction material and it shows a high protecting effect.

A cover main body (a) is formed into a substantial cylindrical shape by rubber or soft synthetic resin. A circumferential wall of the cover main body (a) is provided with a slit 1 extending in an axial direction and a cross section of the cover main body (a) is formed into a substantial C-shape. The slit 1 of the cover main body (a) is fitted to a projecting edge of the plate- like member such as a construction material or the like. The projecting edge is inserted into a hollow section of the cover main body (a) through the slit 1. Shock when the plate-like member is contacted under striking of the cover main body (a) is reduced.
