To provide a protection film-peeling device which prevents a TFT element and a driving IC driver from being broken without breaking each electrode of a liquid crystal panel, and also provide a protection film-peeling method.
A holding stand 101, a support member 102 and a resin pad 103 holds a liquid crystal panel P. An peeling member 104 and a moving means peel off a protection film F from the liquid crystal panel P. An light-emitting part 105 and a light-reception part 106 detect the charging quantity of the liquid crystal panel P. An electrode part 107 is arranged, with a prescribed spacing to the liquid crystal panel P, on the opposite side to the face of the side at which the protection film F of the liquid crystal panel P is peeled. An electric potential adjusting part 108 and a bipolar power source 109 adjust the applied electric potential of the electrode part 107 to reduce the charging quantity of the liquid crystal panel P on the basis of the charging quantity of the liquid crystal panel P which the light-emitting part 105 and the light-reception part 106 detect.
