Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection unit forming device that prevents missing pages due to deterioration of paste applied on a back part of a booklet.SOLUTION: There is provided a protection unit forming device in which, for example, a bookbinding device 120 is mounted onto an aligning unit 122 that makes text papers into a paper bundle for one booklet, page space of the text papers conveyed to the aligning unit 122 is abutted against a liquid discharge unit 2b of a coating unit 2, and in this state, the coating unit 2 is moved in a Y direction to form, in a protection unit forming region E set in a space portion between an image forming region and the back part of the text papers, a linear protection unit P parallel to the back part of the text papers, so that deterioration of paste due to bleed of liquid ingredients contained in an ink such as an ink solvent from an image printed on the text papers is prevented.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
