Title:
PROTECTIVE CIRCUIT FOR CMOS IC
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01283957
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a protector circuit which eliminates a limit resistor from each input terminal of C-MOS IC by connecting a diode between a power terminal and a power line.

CONSTITUTION: A protective circuit has a C-MOS IC 1; a resistor 4 and a capacitor 5 which constitutes a differentiating circuit; a diode 3 which clamps an over input voltage to the C-MOS IC 1; and a diode 10. By this means, when a differential input voltage V11 is changed from OV∼Vcc, an input voltage to the CMOS IC 1 becomes higher than Vcc. However, due to the diode 10, a current from an input terminal to a power terminal through inside of the IC 1 do not flow. Thus, a current limit resistor is unnecessary to each input terminal and circuit protection against over voltage is obtained.
