To provide a protective cover device for a hand tool device which insures retaining of a set operational depth during operation and can shield a tool.
The protective cover device 2 for a tool device 4 for driving a circular tool 6 comprises a cover 8 for enclosing the tool 6, a guide member 18 pivotally supported on the cover 8 for being placed onto the workpiece 28, a spring for biasing the guide member in a first turn direction S1 away from the cover 8, and an adjustable depth stop 30 which abuts the cover 8 in the second turn direction S2 of the guide member 18 opposite the first turn direction S1, in which a locking device 38 is provided for being adjustable, preferably, for automatically securing the guide member 18 relative to the cover 8 in the first turn direction S1.
