Abstract:
To provide a protective layer transfer method and a thermal transfer printing apparatus that can be used to transfer protective layers each having a different surface condition onto each area in an image.SOLUTION: In a protective layer transfer method, a protective layer is thermally transferred onto an image printed on a transfer-receiving body using a protective layer transfer sheet having a substrate and the protective layer. The protective layer transfer method comprises the steps of: extracting an object to be extracted from an image; and transferring protective layers onto the image so that surface conditions of the protective layers differ between an object region containing the extracted object and a background region other than the object region in the image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
