To protect the face and the head of a pilot and also to allow ground activities by constituting a half-face mask with a microphone, a protective hood and an air purifying part and mounting the entitled helmet so as to make the head and the inside of the helmet in close contact with each other without a gap.

This protective mask consists of a protective hood 1, a half-face mask 2 fit-fixed to the fitting part of the lower part of an eye piece airtight within the hood 1, a purifying set 6 connected to the mask 2 through a connecting tube 3, a filter holder 4 and a connecting tube 5. A microphone is mounted on the mask 2. The hood 1 consists of a head part made of butyl rubber coated thin fabric and a shoulder-to-chest part made of an activated carbon fiber fabric. The mask 2 is mounted and the head, and the inside of the helmet are in close contact with each other and a part to the chest is covered, thereby the face and the head are protected, allowing ground activities.
