Abstract:
To provide a protein thin film and a protein fiber manufactured from S-sulfonated keratin derivatives, and to provide a method of manufacturing the protein thin film and the protein fiber.
The method of manufacturing the protein thin film by performing solvent casting of an solution of S-sulfonated keratin protein, and the method of manufacturing the protein fiber by extruding a solution of S-sulfonated keratin into an aqueous solution containing a reductant and salts that causes the protein in the solution to become insoluble are provided. Further, the protein thin film and protein fiber manufactured by the method of manufacturing the protein thin film and protein fiber are also provided.
