PURPOSE: To lessen the temperature rise of a PTC element in stationary state by forming a heat radiating section, which accelerates the heat radiation of an element, at the surface of the PTC element.
CONSTITUTION: Copper terminals 3 are provided at both ends of a PTC element 1, and iron material 5 is attached to the PTC element 1 through the mica 4 made on the PTC element 1. Moreover, a heat insulating material 6 is provided on the opposite face to the face where the iron plate 5 is attached of the PTC element 1. Furthermore, a PTC resistor is placed in a box 7 where the bottom 10 is made of aluminum and the side 8 and the top 9 are made of resin. At this time, The PTC resistor is placed so that the iron material 5 of the PTC resistor and aluminum face of the box 7 may contact with each other. Hereby, heat runout, which is caused by the temperature of the PTC element rising greatly, can be prevented at stationary state, and also the heat at center of the element is radiated to the low temperature part too through the heat radiation part, and the temperature distribution of the PTC element is equalized.
