When a used first IC card being a copying source and a newly purchased second IC card being a copying destination are inserted into the housing pocket of a public telephone, the CPU of the public telephone set 1 executes anti-collision processing to identify the first and second IC cards from each other. When the first IC card being the copying source is designated, the CPU reads the plural auto-dial numbers of the telephone directory part of the first IC card to display on a display part and when each desired auto-dial number is selected from among the displayed auto dial numbers, successively registers each selected auto-dial number to the telephone directory part of the second IC card of the copying destination.
