Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent thermal property from being changed even with an aluminum-made pulley by applying nickel-phosphor plating to the surface of pulley so as to improve the durability, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. CONSTITUTION:Since the pulley for this device has been made of aluminum, a flaw is caused on the surface due to the handling after the processing, and a steel belt wound with a tension causes breakdown from the flaw on the surface of pulley and the durability is considerably deteriorated as a big disadvantage in a conventional device. Moreover, in the operation, the dust due to dot- shaped corrosion generates on the contact face between the pulley and the steel belt due to high frequency vibration and the reliability of the disk device is degraded similarly. Then nickel plating 14 is applied to the circumferential part except the surface flat part of the pulley 17. Thus, the pulley for driving magnetic head carriage with durability and high quality is formed.
