PURPOSE: To prevent the heat exchanger from being damaged by a method wherein a tube plate is fixedly supported on a carriage and the carriage is moved while a tensile force balancing with a torque generating about the support point of the tube plate is applied on the tube plate and the carriage.
CONSTITUTION: The tube plate 1 is fixedly supported on the carriage 11 and one end of a first wire 16 is fitted into a hole 18 in the upper end of the tube plate 1. At the same time, the other end of the first wire 16 is wound around a large- diametered winding drum 15 of a wire take-up device on the carriage 11 and one end of a second wire 21 is wound around a small-diametered winding drum 20 of a wire take-up device 14 with the other end fixed to the wall 38 of the equipment. As a result, it is possible to move the carriage 11 while the tensile force balancing with the torque generating about the support point of the tube plate 1 and the carriage 11. Accordingly, it is possible to insert the heat exchanger 2 into a trunk 6 and to prevent the heat exchanger 2 from being damaged.
