In the pulling-out and insertion type soot blowing device that the lance pipe is inserted in the combustion chamber and an adhesion substance in a combustion chamber is removed by injecting a high pressure injection medium through the tip of the lance pipe, the soot blowing device comprises a drum screw part having a spiral part formed on an outer peripheral surface and capable of being mounted in the puling-out and insertion sooth blowing device freely rotatably and axially movably in parallel to or concentrically to the lance pipe; an engaging part engaged with the spiral part of the drum screw. The spiral part is formed that a part having a coarse spiral pitch and a part having a fine spiral pitch are continuously formed in a two-stage. The drum screw is axially moved through engagement between the spiral part and the engaging member simultaneously with rotation, and thus the moving speed of the lance pipe in the axial direction can be changed.
