To provide a pulse generation circuit that implements a satisfactorily precise leading edge of pulses by means of differentiators excelling in impulse/step response.
A first differentiator 3a directly differentiates an input signal 101 to capture a leading edge of a pulse. A phase shift circuit 1 adjusts a variation in the phase of the input signal 101 according to a phase variation adjustment signal 107 to decide the width of the pulse. An attenuator 2 adjusts the amplitude of a signal 102 from the phase shift circuit 1 according to a gain adjustment signal 108. A second differentiator 3b differentiates a signal 103 from the attenuator 2 to capture a trailing edge of the pulse. An adder/subtracter 4 adds and subtracts a signal 104 from the first differentiator 3a and a signal 105 from the second differentiator 3b, respectively, to output a short pulse signal 106.
