Abstract:
To improve the image quality of an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A recording encoder processing unit 31 comprises a period counter 53 and a discharge timing pulse generation unit 54. The period counter 53 calculates time information indicating a time interval every time an encoder signal is output from a rotary encoder 14. The discharge timing pulse generation unit 54 determines an output timing to output a discharge timing pulse based on at least two pieces of time information. The time difference in calculation timing between the first and second time information is longer than the time required for a motor to rotate by an angle corresponding to a cogging distance or more. The first time information is, of the at least two pieces of time information, calculated based on the encoder signal output earliest, and the second time information is calculated based on the encoder signal output latest.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
