PURPOSE: To make it possible to discriminate that superior articles are continuously obtained in an amount which is a second predetermined number equal to or more than a first predetermined value number, in a printing apparatus, by setting a counting pulse output control signal as the article superior and inferior detecting output of binary value display.
CONSTITUTION: The counting pulse PC from a counting pulse generating means 71 outputs a counting pulse PG through a counting pulse output means 207 during a time when the binary value output of a counting pulse output controlling signal generating means 201 being a printed matter superiority and inferiority detecting means and counted by a setting counter 232. This counted value SC1 is respectively compared with a first and a second predetermined values 236, 141 by comparators 237, 240 and a pulse number display pulse PW is outputted from a pulse number display signal output circuit 262 being a pulse number display signal output means. By this method, when a large number of articles containing inferior articles are continuously obtained, it can be discriminated that the superior articles among a large number of articles are continuously obtained in an amount which is a second predetermined value number equal to or more than a first predetermined value number.
