Title:
PULSE-WIDTH MODULATION CIRCUIT OF POWER SUPPLY FOR LASER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3253349
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the pulse-width modulation circuit (PWM circuit), of a power supply for a laser, wherein its response is fast, its switching loss is small and its instruction pulse is output with fidelity.
CONSTITUTION: The title modulation circuit is constituted of the following: a detection means (a differentiation circuit DE) which detects a change in an output instruction voltage; a triangular-wave frequency change means (composed of a first comparator COM1 and a variable frequency triangular-wave generator VTG) which increases the frqeuency of a triangular-wave generator for a definite time after it has been detected by the detection means; and a comparison means (a second comparator COM2) which uses a triangular-wave voltage fed from the triangular-wave generator as an input on one side, which uses the difference voltage between a DC or pulse output voltage and an instruction voltage as an input on the other side, which compares them and which outputs the difference voltage and a pulse train whose width is proportional to the cycle of triangular waves.
