To obtain a burner excellent in durability irrespective of the kinds of properties of fuels by placing a Benturi type concentration separator along a horizontal axis of a pulverized pipe.
This pulverized coal burner comprises a pulverized coal pipe 01 for injecting a mixture of finely powdered coal and air from a nozzle 06 and a secondary air nozzle 09 for supplying secondary air to the surroundings of the nozzle 06. In the pulverized coal burner, a Benturi type concentration separator 12 is disposed along a horizontal axis of the pipe 01. Pulverized coal mixture gas 02 is moderated in its turning force by a kicker force 03, and pulverized coal concentration becomes uniform whereby the finely powdered mixture gas 02 fed to the Benturi type concentration separator 12 forms mixture gas having higher pulverized coal concentration at the center side in the pulverized coal pipe 01 while forming mixture gas having lower finely powdered coal concentration on the outside respectively with the aid of the action of the Benturi type concentration separator 12. Further, part thereof passes through a cylindrical partition plate 13 and keeps separation of the concentration mixture gas, and reaches the pulverized coal nozzle 06.
