Title:
PUMP FLOW VAPORIZER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08206211
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable accurate administration of a necessary amount of anesthetic to a patient in a compact fashion by a method wherein a vaporizing chamber is so arranged to make the width thereof larger in ratio than the height thereof and a liquid anesthetic is immediately gasified when entering the vaporizing chamber to be introduced into a passing carrier gas flow. SOLUTION: A carrier flow gas enters an inlet part 20, passes through a plenum 24 of the inlet part to be made stable and distributed over crossing an inlet to a vaporizing chamber 16. The vaporizing chamber 16 itself is roughly rectangular with the width thereof very large and the height thereof low so that the carrier gas quickly turns to a laminar flow and expands almost uniformly crossing the entire width of an opening part of the vaporizing chamber 16. Therefore, the gas inevitably passes in the laminar flow through a hole 28 to be introduced into the vaporizing chamber 16 through the hole 28. Anesthetic compressed by a pump 36 is immediately vaporized when entering the vaporizing chamber 16. Subsequently, the carrier gas takes in the vapor of the anesthetic to be carried along the vaporizing chamber 16 and discharged at an outlet part 22 as carrier gas containing the anesthetic vapor.
