PURPOSE: To facilitate the working of a butt end with a punch with a surface plate.
CONSTITUTION: The punch is equipped with a surface plate 1, which is held to a material to be worked (a), a vise-like equipment for holding the material to be worked provided on the surface plate 1 and a perforating device mounted onto the surface plate. An auxiliary fence 27 is connected to the surface plate so as to pivot normal to the holding direction of the vise-like equipment. In addition, on the surface plate, a first stopper 34 for stopping the auxiliary fence at the position, at which the fencing surface 28 of the auxiliary fence is normal to the datum planes 4 and 5 of the surface plate, and a second stopper 35 for stopping the auxiliary fence at the position, at which the fencing face and the datum plane come into flush with each other, are provided.
