Abstract:
PURPOSE: To punch a helmet with good efficiency by arranging a punch coaxially with the punch insertion hole of the support block which is abutted on the helmet inner periphery.
CONSTITUTION: When a punch 44 is driven in the helmet 16 wall thick direction, the helmet 16 is interposed in the space with the punch insert hole 42 of a support block 36 and a punch is formed on the helmet 16 by a shearing force. The punching chip of after punching comes into the punch insert hole 42. Due to the helmet 16 being thus punched by the punching shear force not by cutting, punching chips are not splashed. The burrs generated on the back face of a through hole are also less because of the shearing force by punching being applied only.
