PURPOSE: To execute punching of a metallic lithium pole without generating a burr, etc., by using a metallic die consisting of a sintered metal having a specified porosity, and setting the metallic die to a wet state by hexane.

CONSTITUTION: A sintered body 1 consisting of a sintered metal whose porosity is 15W50% is formed to a one end closed cylindrical body, and a press punching male die 1' having a screw part which is screw-fitted to a press main shaft 2 is manufactured. Hexane is poured into this die, the metallic die is held in a wet state, and a metallic lithium electrode of an optional shape is punched from a ribbon-like lithium metal. In this case, when adjustment is executed so that hexane oozes out moderately from the metallic die, moisture in case of punch- shaping can be prevented, no burr adheres to an edge or the metallic die, and an electrode piece having no variations of weight is obtained.
