Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce or remove 1,1,2-trifluoro-1,2-dichloroethane selectively and efficiently by bringing a gaseous mixture containing specific two compounds into contact with chromium oxide at a specified temp.
CONSTITUTION: The objective 1,1,2-trifluoro-1,2-dichloroethane (A123a) is reduced or removed by bringing the mixture of A123a and 1,1,1-trifluoro-2,2- dichloroethane (A123) into contact with chromium oxide (preferably, crystalline form) supported on aluminum trifluoride at 180-400°C (preferably, 220-320°C) for a time of 1-200 sec. (preferably, 10-110 sec.).
