Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for easily and economically purifying α-bisabolol by distilling a plant extract containing α-bisabolol under reduced pressure.
CONSTITUTION: This method comprises drawing off the purified α-bisabolol as side product from a lower half of a distillation column, and feeding in the extract above a side outlet. The method can be easily performed without the environmental contamination, and the valuable product can be obtained with high yield.
