Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To purify tetraorganodisiloxane in high purity and excellent industrial yield useful for a modifying agent of a synthetic resin such as polyimide, polyamide and polyurethane.
SOLUTION: This 1,3-bis(3-aminopropyl)-1,1,3,3-tetraorganodisiloxane of the formula (R is an alkyl or an aryl) is dissolved in solvent preferably comprising isopropanol, changed to an acid-addition salt by using preferably hydrogen chloride (hydrochloric acid), recrystalized preferably in the same solvent and then neutralized preferably using sodium hydroxide. The example of the prescribed compound is 1,3-bis-(3-aminopropyl)-1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisiloxane.
