To obtain a purified human ouabain that is useful as diagnosis agents such as a hypertension diagnosis agent, a congestive cardiomyopathy diagnosis agent, and a renal insufficiency diagnosis agent.
Human plasma or serum are dialyzed and a mixed protein is removed the obtained dialysate is sampled, a non-charged polar molecule and a charged molecule in the obtained dialysate are separated, a fraction containing the non-charged polar molecule is obtained, and lipid is separated from the fraction containing the non-charged polar molecule. Then, sodium transportation active suppression is assayed for the fraction that does not contain the lipid, the fraction for suppressing sodium transportation activity is subjected to (Na++K+) ATPase affinity extraction, and a compound that is connected to (Na++K+) ATPase is subjected to inverse-phase HPLC.
