PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pushbutton-type locking device which eliminates the torsion of tumblers caused by pressing operation of pushbuttons, and allows the operator to press the pushbuttons with a relatively light touch. SOLUTION: The pushbutton-type locking device is constructed in the following manner. The plurality of pushbuttons 14 are arranged on a front side of a holder case 6 in a manner withdrawable in the holder case 6, and when the pushbuttons 14 are pressed, they are moved toward a rear side of the holder case 6, where a plurality of kinds of tumblers 15A to 15C are temporarily fixed at locations corresponding to the pushbuttons 14. Then, a slider 20 movable in a direction perpendicular to a moving direction of the tumblers 15A to 15C is arranged in the holder case 6, and when some of the unlocking tumblers 15A, 15B set beforehand are pressed by the pushbuttons 14, the slider 20 energized to a locking location is allowed to move toward an unlocking location. According to the pushbutton-type locking device thus constructed, a press-fitting mechanism 47 for moving the tumblers 15A to 15C toward the rear side of the holder case 6 while pinching the same, is provided for each pushbutton 14.
