Abstract:
To provide an organic compound having absorption maximum in visible region, emitting visible light in red color area by exciting the compound and useful as a luminous agent and a light absorbent in organic electroluminescent element or the like.
This purpose is attained by providing a pyran derivative having a specific structure, a luminous agent, a light absorbent and an organic electroluminescent element each containing the pyran derivative and a method for producing pyran derivative through a step for reacting 4-(dicyanomethylene)-2,6-dimethyl-4H-pyran with a coumarin compound having julolidine skeleton in the molecule, in which aldehyde group and hydrocarbon group are each bound at the 3-position and the 4-position.
