NEW MATERIAL: A compd. of formula I-III {where W, X, Y, Z=C-R4 [where R4 = (substd.) C1-6 alkyl, etc.], N, N→O, which ring has only one hetero; R1=C1-4 alkoxy, C3-8 alkyl, etc.; R2=H; R3 = formyl, 4,5-dihydroxazol-2-yl, etc.; R4 = (substd.) C1-6 alkyl, cyano, nitro, etc.}.
EXAMPLE: 2-isopropylaminocarbonyl-5-methyl-pyridine-3-carboxylic acid.
USE: herbicides.
PROCESS: The compd. of formula I is obtd. by dehydration-reacting a compd. of formula IV with a compd. of formula V in the existence of adehydrating agent, such as acetoanhydride, etc.
