Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:Pyridone monoazo dyes of formula I wherein X is H, halogen, nitro, acetyl; Y is cyano, COOR; R is lower alkyl, alkenyl, lower alkoxyalkyl, aryloxyalkyl, aralkyl.
USE: Monoazo dyes which exhibit sufficient resist-printability and dischargeability with a small quantity of an alkali, are effective in preventing damage of effect color of printing and preventing lowering in the strength of polyester fiber, etc. and has excellent dyeing properties and fastness to light, water, sublimation, perspiration, etc.
PREPARATION: A compd. of formula II is reacted with a compd. of formula III(wherein Z is halogen) to obtain the desired pyridone monoazo dye of formula I .
