Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a quadrilateral honeycomb-shaped ceramics catalyst having high durability against a temp. change.

CONSTITUTION: This quadrilateral honeycomb-shaped ceramics catalyst is obtained by forming a honeycomb structure using a thin-walled plate 15 and surrounding the outer periphery thereof by thick-walled plates 11-14. The thickness of one side 14 of each of the peripheral thick-walled plates is set to 1.5-2.0 times that of other three sides thereof. This quadrilateral honeycomb-shaped ceramics catalyst is received in a steel frame in a laminated state to form a catalyst pack but, by assembling the catalyst pack so that one thick-walled side 14 comes into contact with the steel frame, the catalyst is allowed to withstand the load received from the steel frame. Two adjacent sides for corner part of the steel frame are made thicker than other two sides.
