Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject disinfectant free from sticky feeling and usable without necessitating washing with water and wiping with a towel by compounding an alcohol solution containing a germicidal disinfectant as an active component with a thickener composed of a carboxyvinyl polymer and a water-soluble cellulosic polymer compound.
CONSTITUTION: The objective quick-drying gel-type disinfectant for fingers for the easy germicidal disinfection treatment of fingers of doctors, nurses, patients, etc., in hospitals, etc., is produced by compounding an alcohol solution containing a germicidal disinfectant (e.g. benzalkonium chloride) as an active component with a thickener containing 0.05-2.0wt.% of a carboxyvinyl polymer and 0.1-3.0wt.% of a water-soluble cellulosic high molecular compound (e.g. hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose) (the sum of both components is ≤3.0wt.%). The agent is usable without necessitating washing with water and wiping with a towel, free from spilling and dripping troubles, easily spreadable over the whole fingers without causing local aggregation and free from stickiness before and after drying.
