To provide a photocatalyst body which can be coated on both a photo inorganic substrate and an organic substrate with sufficient adhesiveness, securely sticks to avoiding falling, has transparent feeling, prevents deterioration of a substrate by the photocatalyst itself and on the other hand, has high photocatalytic activity, has low staining, further is not required to heat and has a high hardness immediately after coating at room temperature, has excellent workability, can prevent tear and peeling of a film due to contact during operation, and easily forms an extensive coating film for a building or the like.
The photocatalyst body includes a photocatalyst layer provided on the surface of the substrate and containing peroxotitanic acid and anatase titanium oxide, and a coated layer provided on the photocatalyst layer and containing a polysiloxane compound obtained by reacting an alkoxysilane compound and/or an alkoxysiloxane compound in water and an organic solvent. The thickness of the coated layer is preferably 0.01 to 0.5 μm, and the thickness of the photocatalyst layer is preferably 0.2 to 10 μm.
