Abstract:
To provide a rack assist type electric power steering device for improving freedom of design of a reduction ratio, and attaining high output and size reduction.
The rack assist type electric power steering device 10 includes a reduction gear 32 disposed between an electric motor 34 and a ball screw mechanism 33 and coaxially incorporated in a rack shaft 31, the electric motor 34, and the ball screw mechanism 33. The reduction gear 32 is a ball reduction gear composed by two pairs of trochoid series waveform grooves.
