This radial tire is obtained by using a rubber composition prepared by compounding 0.1-3.0 pts. mass of N, N'-diphenylmethanebismaleimide and 0.1-3.0 pts. mass of sodium pyrophosphate decahydrate with 100 pts. mass of a rubber component comprising a diene rubber as the rubber for covering the metal cord in at least one of the belt layer and the carcass ply.
