Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation detecting method by an ionization chamber type radiation detector with favorable detection energy resolution and detection time resolution of radiation by increasing a SN ratio and a rise gradient of a detection signal.
SOLUTION: In this ionization chamber type radiation detector, electrode planes of one pair of a negative electrode 2 and a positive electrode 3 arranged so as to sandwich a radiation detecting element 1 are each insulated and divided into a plurality of areas A1, B1, C1, D1, A2, B2, C2, and D2 for constituting a plurality of electrode plane pairs of the negative electrode 2 and the positive electrode 3, a bias voltage is applied to these plurality of electrode plane pairs, potential changes of each divided electrode plane generated by radiation incidence to the radiation detecting element 1 are respectively synthesized at each of a positive electrode side and a negative electrode side via an electronic device having rectification, and a difference of the synthesized positive and negative electrode potential changes E1 and E2 is used as a detection signal. By this, radiation is detected.
