Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation detection element capable of detecting neutrons with high sensitivity.SOLUTION: A radiation detection element is formed from a phosphate compound containing silver, lithium orthophosphate, and aluminum metaphosphate. The phosphate compound preferably contains 10-95 mol% lithium orthophosphate with respect to a total amount of lithium orthophosphate and aluminum metaphosphate. The phosphate compound is obtained by mixing lithium orthophosphate, aluminum metaphosphate, and silver together, heat-melting the mix, and then cooling the mix.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
