To provide a radio communication device which realizes the high quality of a signal even when no hardware or high speed CPU for performing high speed processing is mounted when transmitting inter-equipment video or voice signal in an AV system by using radio communication.
The radio communication device is provided with: a receiving part 1 for receiving a real time signal; a packet analyzing part 2; an error correcting part 3 for correcting an erroneous block in a packet; a communication path evaluating part 20; a buffer 4 for preserving data; a plurality of antennas 11; an antenna switching part 6; an antenna switching control part 5 for instructing antenna switching on the basis of the result of communication path evaluation by each prescribed unit; a retransmission request control part 7 for making a retransmission request on the basis of the result of the communication path evaluation by each prescribed unit; a packet generating part 8 for generating the retransmission request packet; and a transmitting part 9 for transmitting the retransmission request packet. The retransmission request control part 7 makes the retransmission request within a range where real time transmission is not interrupted.
