Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an LAN in which mobile station transfer can be executed easily between a plurality of base stations.
CONSTITUTION: A LAN system 10 incorporates a wired backbone LAN 12 having a plurality of LAN segments 14, 16, and 18 which are connected to each other through transparent bridges 26 and 44. Base stations 22 and 52 communicate with a mobile radio station 30. In response to a decision on the communication transfer from the first base station 22 to the second base station 52 made at the station 30, a transfer request massage is sent to the station 22 from the station 30 through the LAN 12, and dynamic filtering data bases contained in the base stations 22 and 52 and transparent bridges 26 and 44 are updated. With respect to the new communication location of the mobile radio station 30, the transfer request message passes through the bridges 26 and 44.
