When message data are received and data of melodies are contained in the received message, the data of the melodies are additionally stored in an EEPROM 4 that is capable of storing data of a plurality of melodies and when data of melodies are not contained in the received message data, the message is stored in a memory 3. When one of pieces of the additionally stored data of the plurality of melodies is set as call arrival notification tones and when there is call arrival after setting, in this radio receiver, the melody additionally stored and set on the EEPROM 4 is sounded as call arrival notification tones.
