PURPOSE: To expand the usage range of a hand set by selectively performing speaking from either one of plural base units with the hand set by registering the information of plural base units on the hand set and controlling a radio part based on this information of base units.

CONSTITUTION: When originating a call from a hand set A through a base unit A or B, a call originating operation is performed after the user of a cordless hand set 12 sets the execution of call origination/termination through the base unit A or B by using a key input part 15. A central control part 21 prepares a data sequence based on the registered ID of the base unit A or B and the ID of the hand set itself in order to transmit a speaking channel establishing request according to a call originating procedure and instructs transmission to a radio part 17. The radio part 17, that receives the transmitting instruction, modulates the data sequence received from the central control part 21 and transmits it through an antenna 16 to the base unit as a high frequency signal. When the base unit A is installed at home and the base unit B is installed at a company respectively, for example, the hand set A can be used not only at home but also at the company and its usage range can be considerably expanded.
