Abstract:
To provide a radioactive material measuring apparatus that can measure a strontium concentration at a specific part on the surface of a measurement target.SOLUTION: A radioactive material measuring apparatus 1 of the present invention comprises: a housing 3 having formed therein a radioactive ray introduction window 23 for introducing a radioactive ray radiated from a measurement target; a silica aerogel 5 arranged in the housing 3, being adjusted so as to have a refractive index of 1.017 or greater and of smaller than 1.042; a reflection mirror 7 for reflecting Cherenkov light that is emitted when the radioactive ray is incident to the silica aerogel 5 arranged in the housing 3; a Cherenkov light measurement unit 9 for measuring the Cherenkov light reflected by the reflection mirror 7; first trigger scintillation fibers 15 that are arranged at the opposite side of the radioactive ray introduction window 23 having the reflection mirror 7 in between, and that are configured so that only the radioactive ray introduced in the direction perpendicular to the light direction from the radioactive ray introduction window 23 emits light; and a first trigger measurement unit 17 for measuring the light emission from the first trigger scintillation fibers 15.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
