To prevent rain or snow from falling down to a occupant when getting in and out of a vehicle by providing a rain shielding means for a rain shielding housing located near a vehicle door to shield the opening of the door and its vicinity from rain or the like.

A hollow rain shielding housing 1 is mounted on a roof R near a vehicle door D and a rain shielding means 2 is assembled in the housing 1. The rain shielding means 2 has two rain shielding plates 3 slidable to the right and left sides in a range of an inward position and an outward position in a door opening direction in the housing 1 to cover the openings of right and left vehicle doors D when opened and a slide mechanism 4 to slide the rain shielding plates 3. The rain shielding plates 3 are formed into a rectangular shape with plastic, glass or metal plates or the like and assembled in the housing 1 at inward upper and lower position in opposition. For the slide mechanism 4, four guide rails 41 arranged at longitudinal position on the upper and lower inner wall faces of the housing 1 and eight sliders 42 locked to the respective guide rails 41 in a rolling manner are provided.
