PURPOSE: To obtain a fiber-raised woven or knit fabric having a mild luster and a deep color by thermally treating the fiber-raised woven or knit fabric of polyester fibers containing fine particles with a specific chemical agent to taper the tips of fibers forming the fiber-raised portion.
CONSTITUTION: A fiber-raised woven or knit fabric using polyester synthetic fibers containing 0.3-5 wt.% of fine particles having an average diameter of ≤0.2 μm at fiber-raised portions thereof is coated with a viscous solution having a viscosity of ≥100 cps and containing a chemical agent having a property for dissolving the fibers by a padding method, and subsequently heating the coated fabric at a temperature of ≥80°C to uneven the surfaces of fibers forming the fiber-raising portions and simultaneously taper the tips of the fibers, thereby providing the objective fabric having depressions satisfied with an equation: 0.2 μm < X < 0.7 μm in an amount of 10-1000 depressions per 100 μm2 when a distance between the lowest point of the depression and the lowest point of the adjacent depression in the peripheral direction orthogonal to the axis of the fiber on the surface of the unevened fiber.
