Abstract:

To provide a range finder capable of dealing with any kind of an object to be photographed, and which is favorable in terms of space and also in terms of cost, and also capable of reducing a time lag.

This range finder is provided with a projecting means (lens 1, light-emitting element 2) for projecting range finding light to the object, a high-receiving means (light-receiving lens 3, sensor array 4) for monitoring the image pattern of the object, an integration circuit 20 for integrating the output signal of the light-receiving means, a fixed light removal circuit 23 for preventing the output signal following the normal light normally made incident on the light-receiving means from being guided to the integration circuit 20, and a calculation control part 10 for setting a 1st mode of operating the circuit 23, or a 2nd mode of not operating the circuit 23 in the case of obtaining the position of the reflected signal light from the object, based on the projection of the projecting means.
