Title:
RANGE FINDER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3199974
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase the freedom of the design of a range finder and to make it possible to perform multiple-point distance measurement without enlarging the area of the entire sensor.
CONSTITUTION: With respect to at least one sensor of a plurality of sensors 11-13, the opposite side with regard to the side of a light projecting means is deviated at a specified interval in the direction perpendicular to the base line. Furthermore, sensor areas 11a, 12a and 13a are expanded into the opposite direction with respect to the side of the light projecting means. Without any change of the respective arrangements of a plurality of the neighboring sensors, the received reflected light image of an object for distance measurement located at the side of the short distance is received at the expanded sensor area part. Thus, the highly accurate distance measurement on the side of the short distance is maintained.
