PURPOSE: To obtain a range finder in which a range can be set easily.

CONSTITUTION: The range finder comprises means 1 for measuring the distance to an object, means 2 for judging the measurements of the means 1, a first means 3 for setting a point of specific distance within a measurable range of the means 1, and a second means 4 for setting a specific range including the point of specific distance. The means 2 determines in which of a plurality of ranges divided by the points of distance being set by the second setting means 4, or a plurality of ranges divided by the point of specific distance and the points of distance being set by the second setting means 4, the measured distance belongs.
