Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a process for rapidly pyrolyzing coal in which the control of products can be performed without changing the pyrolysis conditions by pretreating the coal with a specified solvent.
CONSTITUTION: This process comprises rapidly pyrolyzing coal swollen by mixing with a lower alcohol or a lower alcohol/tetra- and/or decahydronaphthalene mixture in a pyrolysis oven.
