In the raw material coal drying and classifying device for forming a fluidized bed within a fluidized drying zone, a classifying zone with gas ejected from a gas chamber 13 via the dispersion plate 11 to dry and classify the raw material coal in the fluidized bed, the dispersion plate 11 and/or a lining plate formed on side walls of the fluidized drying zone, the classifying zone are/is constituted of a steel sheet containing Ni of 1-6%, Mn of 1-6%, Cu of 0.05-0.8% in mass%, and consisting of Fe and inevitable impurities as its balance.
