In this raw material push-in device 101A for the melting furnace, raw material RM such as non-ferrous metal chip as a melting object is pushed in molten metal 103 in the melting furnace from above, with the lower end sunk in the insertion state in the molten metal 103 in the melting furnace, thereby melting the raw material. The device includes: a cylindrical melting part made of heat resisting material; a container part 124 which is a push-in part 123 fitted to the upper part thereof and communicated to the melting part; and a screw part 127 inserted in the container part to rotate around the longitudinal axis, wherein the screw part includes a shaft along the longitudinal axis and a blade 127B thereto, and the blade pushes down the raw material supplied to the container part, and a driving part 128 is provided to drive the push-in part and the screw part in the push-in part in rotation.
